Extruded tapered helix?

Extruded tapered helix?

Is it possible to create an extruded, tapered helix in SW, like a ram's horn?

I got as far creating profiles and a path (see picture) but cant create the subsequent volume.

RE: Extruded tapered helix?

So a loft didn't work? is your largest diameter too big for the path, causing interference?

Loft wasnt working but just realised if I select central path it works fine.

RE: Extruded tapered helix?

Check out this post i did back in 2007 http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=176455 This has what you need I think, however none of the links for scottjbaugh.com works anymore. My website is down and I no longer have a copy on my work PC anymore. When I get home tonight and if I have time I will try and find a copy of the file and post it here.

If anyone that was on the forum post and downloaded that file and still has it, please report it so DrBwts can review it and so I can get myself a local copy.

Thanks,

Hi I resolved this by using the Loft feature with a centre line.
