Greetings all

I live and work in the UK. My wife's dad was visiting from his usual place of work, the Middle East where he works as a Geotechnical Engineer. We got chatting over dinner about each other's professions.

After getting a better grasp of what I did (develop software) he started pitching an idea to me about a mobile phone application. It wasn't anything hard, but it sounded like it could be of real use in the field.

He is no longer in the UK and hardly has an internet connection where he works, so can't discuss and take the idea forward.

I am currently seeking a solid development project, and so far my idea revolves around a mobile application where engineers doing Cone Penetration Tests in the field can take and record readings. I would love your thoughts on such an idea.

The application would be able to export the recorded data in AGS format for use with other Geotechnical software (e.g. gINT). Feedback (good and bad) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks You.
