Changing general solution controls not saving

Changing general solution controls not saving

(OP)
I have a model that is failing after 5 attempts on certain interval. I am interested in increasing the number of attempts abaqus makes to see if it can converge at a later value. However when I change the IA setting in general solution controls the program is not saving this value and using it in the solver, so the analysis ones again stops at attempt 5 instead of trying for more attempts.

Does anyone know why this value might not be saving in the solver?

Thank you,
-Clay

- look in the .inp if you find your modification here. should be done with *Controls
- check also the .msg at the beginning if your modifications are taken

Yep that was the problem. For some reason the CAE just wasn't writing that change to the input file. Entered it in manually from the code in the user manual and it worked. I changed it in a different file in the CAE and it worked fine for that one, so likely just a CAE bug with writing the change. Thanks Mustaine
