Pressure Vessel

Pressure Vessel

Pressure Vessel

(OP)
Hi everyone, I am trying to find a reference for a pressure vessel following ASME section viii where it would state about repairing/altering faces on the pressure vessel. I am trying to resurface a raised face to a flat face and I would like to read the requirements in doing so.

Thanks in advance,

eng741

RE: Pressure Vessel

eng741, repair / alteration of pressure vessels is not covered by Sec VIII, it is for new construction. Repairs / alterations are usually covered by NBIC Codes, http://www.nationalboard.org/index.aspx?pageID=4.

If you are talking about a standard nozzle flange, such as B16.5, guidance to deleting a raised face can likely be found that standard.

Regards,

Mike
