Reaction force in the Y direction

Reaction force in the Y direction

(OP)
Hello All,

I am analysing a contact problem using Ansys wherein a D profile geometry is compressed against a cylinder. The issue is I am not able to understand why there are reaction forces in the Y direction of the cylinder even though the displacement is applied only in the X direction. Could anyone of you please help me to solve this issue. The input file is attached for your reference.

Regards,
Bruce

RE: Reaction force in the Y direction

are the Y-reactions equal and opposite ? they may be a redundancy invented by your constraints.

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?
