Is there any way we can do pickling and passivation in smaller pipes?

Is there any way we can do pickling and passivation in smaller pipes?

(OP)
I am an estimation Engineer. I am quoting for a pipe spool project. Spools are mainly 2", 3" and 1/2" pipes (SA 312 TP 316L) and fittings. The client insists on pickling and passivation both inside and outside surface of pipes. As such small sized pipes, can we do pickling (using paste) inside??

The spool length is considerably small (each spool) less than 3m in length.
Can we do picking other than by dipping.?

Passivation we decided to go with passivation liquid circulation. (like a hydro-test loop)

What are your suggestions?

Find someone with a tank and dip them.
It will be the most efficient and effective.
That way you can pickle and passivate in the optimal solutions.

Thank you for the reply..

One more doubt I have. Using 1 kg of pickling paste mixture, how much square meters we can apply???
and if we are using spray method for passivation, how much sq mtrs it can be sprayed for optimal thickness with 1 kg of Passivation supply

(Estimation purpose)

Sure you can. We have our pipe spools done full bath p&p, and theyre the same size range.
Typical cost is small (few percent of overall cost). Look for a company specialized in materials treatment. Theyll have a bath sufficiently large for this work.

Yuo may want to make sure any external thread is protected before entering the bath, they can get damaged fairly easily during handling.
