LONGITUDINAL JOINTS FOR PRESSURE VESSEL ASME SECT VIII DIV.1

(OP)
Someone knows if there is some restriction on ASME Section VIII Div.1 or in other part of BPVC, when I have to joint two Course of Pressure Vessel, is possible to have the longitudinal joints of the Course on the same axis ? the picture is attached.

Sorry for my English and thank you for your help.

Flaiano, there are RT restirctions on your option 2. See UW-9(d). I'd consider it poor practice, in any case.
