How to make a simple composite layer pavement by using Abaqus?

How to make a simple composite layer pavement by using Abaqus?

(OP)
Hello,

I am very new to Abaqus so have some issues.

I am trying to make one pavement soil section as 3d to find deflection.

First, I tried to make some shell planars and combine all together.

However, Abaqus said 'Too many attempts made for this increment'.

I could not find what was wrong.

Then, I tried to use Solid-Extrusion and set my section as Solid,Composite.

After that, Abaqus can show the result for that, but the result does not look correct.

Therefore, can anyone explain how to make composite layer pavement structure which contains 2 layers at least?

In addition, pavement structure on the bridge does not have subgrade layer section, but there is subgrade on ground, so how can I set up subgrade thickness on abaqus?

I attach my Abaqus file just in case
Thanks

You can create layer in solid elements, continuum shells and shells.
Watch out for the material orientation and in solid for the meshing and stack direction.
