Cylinder Sheet Metal Flange Bend

Cylinder Sheet Metal Flange Bend

RE: Cylinder Sheet Metal Flange Bend

You have to flatten the part before you add the tab. Then you have an extremely good chance that Solidworks will not let you roll the cylinder up again because now you have a double curved shape.
B.E.

You are judged not by what you know, but by what you can do.

RE: Cylinder Sheet Metal Flange Bend

Create the part using the sheet metal Swept Flange tool, and then cut-extrude to create the tabs.

@berkshire I have tried your method and i am not too lucky afterall.

@CorBlimeyLimey I have tried that as well but i don't think i can create a flat pattern on this sheet.

RE: Cylinder Sheet Metal Flange Bend

A flat pattern can be created of the basic part, but will not include the notches.
The notches will have to be created in a separate config of the flat pattern.
That's currently a very sad limitation of SW.
