Patran Post Processing: Quick Plot vs Fringe
Patran Post Processing: Quick Plot vs Fringe
(OP)
Hi!
I'm using Patran to post process results with Nastran, and there is something that I cannot figure out. The user has the option to display the results with Quick Plot, which uses default values. Otherwise to get more precise results, the Fringe option is selected, and the analyst can choose more specific entites.
What confuses me is that it seems that Quick Plot option provides less accurate results than Fringe, so I don't really understand what the benefit of this option really is.
Perhaps I missed a point, so any help on this quiery would be more than welcome!!
Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
Tom

As has been said above,Quick plot is s quick because defaults are used. You should see quickly if there are clear discontinuities in the results field which mean you should (maybe) re-mesh locally, etc..... or if you can go ahead confidently and process in more detail with fringe.
