Etabs 13 Spandrels Labeling

Etabs 13 Spandrels Labeling

Etabs 13 Spandrels Labeling

(OP)
Hello guys,

What is the best way to assign spandrel labels in order to read correct results (bending, axial, design, ..)?

The situation I am facing could be found in the attached PDF sketch:
The spandrel wall continuous on 3 different stories is labeled with 2 different naming per span to monitor the positive moment in the mid span (taking into consideration that Etabs will integrate the forces at the start and the end of the labeled spandrel), the label is the same from story 1 to story 3 using the "Multistory" tick box in Etabs, however I am getting very weird results (not as expected) .. I assume I am doing something wrong in the labeling procedure ..

Does anyone have an idea ?

Thank you ..

RE: Etabs 13 Spandrels Labeling

u must assign for each horizontal segment a different spandrel name. It doesnt work like the pier does. I suggest that u redraw ur spandrel and check automatic spandrel name in etabs and draw it segment by segment.
