door & window insertion

door & window insertion

door & window insertion

(OP)
When inserting doors & windows with Arch. Desktop 2i and the automatic offset feture turned off it uses the edge as an insertion point.  I would like to use the center of the door or window as an insertion point similar to what S7 did.  Is this possible?

RE: door & window insertion

Chad,
I don't use the Arch version but ACAD should be ACAD. The doors and windows are more than likely blocks with a defined origin. Edit the block and change the origin of the door or window to the center, and save. Next time you insert the block, it will come in using the center as the insertion point. If you are in an existing drawing, you must redefine the block before inserting it, so it picks up the new insertion point.
Good luck,
Tommy
