Can anyone tell me why aluminium connection by welding is seldom used in Hong Kong?

RE: Aluminium welding connection not used in Hong Kong

Only reason I can guess is the loss of work hardening and heat treatment at the weld. Aluminum is also much more picky about welding process and filler metals from what I understand. Neither of those should be a good reason for never welding aluminum, you just have to take the time to design the connection properly.
