please help!!! from femap mesh to abaqus
(OP)
Hi guys! I'm writing beacause i 'm desperate!!! I was trying to mesh in Femap the pictures that is attached what i did is:
Mesh-> mesh control-> size on solid (i selected the object)-> teet meshing
then i click on
mesh-> geometry-> solids here -> the mesh programme starts -
then
file-> export-> geometry i exported in the format first of iges and then of acis sat 14 but when i read in abaqus the mesh disappears and it looks that i didn t do nothing :(

RE: please help!!! from femap mesh to abaqus
Well, you must understand the difference between mesh (ie, nodes & elements) and CAD geometry: if you want to import in any FEA code the mesh, then you need to export from FEMAP the mesh, not the geometry, OK?. Instead to use "FILE > EXPORT > GEOMETRY" you need to use "FILE > EXPORT > ANALYSIS MODEL" and then choose your solver to let FEMAP to write the correct format, OK?.
Best regards,
Blas.

RE: please help!!! from femap mesh to abaqus
i did file - export - analysis model - other interfaces- Abaqus and i obtained the model in Abaqus BUT with a too big meshes, then when i reduce them an error message appears: meshes aborted
RE: please help!!! from femap mesh to abaqus
I don't understant your problem: the error is in the FEMAP mesher or in the other solver?.
If you have problems to mesh complex SOLID geometry with solid TET10 elements, then in FEMAP use command "MESH > GEOMETRY PREPARATION" and use the default parameters, then use command "MESH > GEOMETRY > SOLIDS" and FEMAP will take care of complex geometry to arrive to a successful TET10 mesh.
Best regards,
Blas.
