Hi BAretired,
You have mentioned in previous posts that you have the file of Anthes Joists. Would you kindly post the pages for 18" deep joists with 26' to 28' spans. Thanks

RE: To BAretired

My scanner is not functional at the moment...sorry.

RE: To BAretired

I just went looking for our office copy but it is MIA. If it shows up I'll post what you need.

RE: To BAretired

@Robbiee,
I believe you will need more than the pages you requested unless you know what the various joist designations mean. For example, it doesn't help you to know that Allspan Joist B182 can carry a total safe load of 185 pounds per lineal foot on a 28' span unless you know the dimensions of the top and bottom chord of Joist B182 so that you can compare it with your measured dimensions of an existing joist.

The Anthes Allspan joist catalog has a total of 30 pages. If someone has the catalog, it would be best if they could send the whole catalog to slideruleera's collection of steel data:

Thanks Jayrod12 and BAretired.
I did measure the chords and members. I hope somebody will post this file. These joists keep showing up every once a while.

Thanks boo1. I saw these two attachments, but there is more to the catalogue that my current joists fall in.

RE: To BAretired

I got my scanner working and scanned the Anthes catalog but couldn't send it to Eng-Tips. The size of file is 82 MB so maybe it is too large. I'll try again later but I may have to break it up into smaller chunks.

Please note that the complete Anthes Allspans catalog (32 pages)is now available on the Slideruleera site, namely:

Thank you BAretired.

RE: To BAretired

You're welcome, Robbiee but I have found another document in my files entitled "Allspan Supplement" which I had forgotten about. It covers a limited range of joists, some of which are 18" deep ranging from B 182 to B 189. I don't remember ever using the supplement, but I guess I had better scan it and send it to Slideruleera for inclusion in his tables.

RE: To BAretired

Slideruleera informs me by email that he has included the Allspan Supplement in his files. Once again, the web address is:
http:slideruleera.net/contributions.html

I think we owe a big round of applause to slideruleera for keeping these records available for the engineering community to access.
