Shell thickness calculation (residual wall thickness for thermowell)

Shell thickness calculation (residual wall thickness for thermowell)

Shell thickness calculation (residual wall thickness for thermowell)

(OP)
The thermowell depth in the HP drum is up to 3 mm from the drum inner wall.
Incidentally, we would like to verify the safety of inner thermowell residual wall thickness(3 mm) during the hydro test.
The ASME. PG-27.2.2. is used for the thickness calculation and the require minimum thickness is 1.89 mm considering the opening size(24 mm), design pressure(174 barg) and design temp(355 ℃).
Please confirm the calculation method is correct and if you have any comment please let us know.
