export iges or step

export iges or step

there's a trick to export automatically a step or iges from an assembly , for every single name part?
Yes i know there's an external tool (fantastic for main part), but when i need to export the screws or ejectors ecc.. whith the external tool, obviously it export a single part with own WCS.
Now i have to select manually all solid of the same standard part in NX and export give it the correct part name... and usually i have more then 100 component screws pins ejectors...

RE: export iges or step

If STEP is used to export an assembly, it will remain as an assembly when imported to a different system. Each component will have its own STEP file.

Not all program do as you say, some customer can't see the assembly in this way... some program see a single file with a lot of solid.

RE: export iges or step

IIRC, if you want to keep the assembly structure in a STEP file, you must use the "entire part" export option. If you use the "selected objects" option, you get multiple bodies in a single file as opposed to individual parts in an assembly structure.

I don't remember if IGES works the same way or not...

this is the goal for the customer,
they don't use a program that recognizes the assembly structure,
they have a unique file for all the assembly.
then they import the single step of any single part and change the layer or assign to a group or i don't know...
