Generator Protection & Control Courses
Generator Protection & Control Courses
(OP)
I'm looking to further my knowledge/education on generator protection and controls and wanted to see if anyone knew of any good training courses on this subject that are either online or classroom based.
I'm looking for something that will touch a little bit on synchronous machine theory as well as provide the solid in depth fundamentals of generator relay protection, control, and excitation systems.
Anybody know of anything out there that is worthwhile?

Did you mean Beckwith? I have been to the Beckwith generator protection school and found it to be very good. They covered distributed generation, generator protection, motor bus transfer, and a few other things. It was held at a really nice beach resort in Florida. It looks like there is another one in July 2015.

I saw that Beckwith training course in some of my searches and it looked good. Being that I am located in Florida its a relatively close option. Sounds like an option I should strongly consider.
In addition to protection theory etc.. do they cover many practical applications with example settings, calculations, etc... Do they cover anything on excitation or generator control?
