UGNX 8 Multi-level BOM

UGNX 8 Multi-level BOM

Can you in UGNX8 have a multi-level Bill of Material? We are working with a new ERP system that can import a multi-level BOM, just wondering if any version of UG can accommodate. The software would be importing an excel file that was outputted from UG. Let me know if I can provide any more information.

RE: UGNX 8 Multi-level BOM

If you go to your Assembly Navigator, place your cursor over some 'white space', press MB3 and select the 'Expand All Components' option and then press MB3 again and select the 'Export to Spreadsheet' option, you'll get an indented list in the spreadsheet which you can then save as an Excel file for whatever use you need it for.

John,

Thank you for the reply, but I need the attributes of the parts to also be exported at the same time. Given that we export the BOM to an excel file, I am working in excel to set it up correctly with the information needed.

You can add additional columns to the Assembly Navigator and tie them the attribute values assigned to the Components. Just Open the Assembly Navigator, place your cursor over some 'white space', press MB3 and select the Columns -> Configure... option and then at the bottom of the dialog enter the names, one at a time, of the Attributes that you want to include in the Assembly Navigator and subsequently in the Spreadsheet when it opens.
