Materials Composition for Super 13 Chrome - UNS 41427

Materials Composition for Super 13 Chrome - UNS 41427

Materials Composition for Super 13 Chrome - UNS 41427

(OP)
Hi,

I would like to ask if there are any PDF or websites that stated the correct materials composition for Low Alloy Steel, Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel?

I need to find the exact materials composition for UNS S41427 - SUPER 13 CHROME

Thanks,
Jeffrey

Yes, use the Tata link, this is a very non-standard grade.

Jeffrey,

The Tata link only gives a nominal composition, while the other link (to the Worldwide Guide of Equivalent Irons and Steels) gives the correct specification limits. For your purposes, you may want to invest in this book as the reference you were asking about as it give comprehensive international specs. If you are only dealing with UNS alloys and only need composition, you should consider investing in Metals and Alloys in the Unified Numbering System, available as SAE HS-1086 or ASTM DS-561 from these organizations.

Thanks Everyone!

Just 1 more question.

I glanced through the google book for the "Worldwide Guide of Equivalent Irons and Steels.

Does it provide the standard mechanical properties like tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and reduction in area?

Thanks,
Jeffrey

RE: Materials Composition for Super 13 Chrome - UNS 41427

No, for that you should use the ASM Handbook series.

RE: Materials Composition for Super 13 Chrome - UNS 41427

Actually, it will provide the mechanical properties you listed except reduction of area IF you are looking at material from a product specification (e.g. ASTM, ISO, etc.) that specifies those properties. The UNS alloys are compositional desigtnations only; you will not get mechanical property specifications for them.

I was hasty in my previous message, mrfailure is correct. You can even see some mechanical property data on the page I linked yesterday. But if you need mechanical property data for many materials, you should consider the ASM Handbooks, at least the Desk Edition if not the whole series.

Thank you everyone! =)
