CSCC in vapor phase service
CSCC in vapor phase service
(OP)
Will chloride exist in the vapor phase? Usually chloride in the aqueous phase is considered for selecting a suitable material. But I heard about some study reports on this, which says about CLSCC in vapor phase. My question is whether really chloride ions can be present in Vapor phase also and it will promote CSCC?

And when that steam contacts a surface that is even slightly colder a small amount of liquid will form. This cyclic wet-dry can result in very high local Cl concentrations and serious ClSCC issues.
