use of IBC in countries other than USA ?

use of IBC in countries other than USA ?

use of IBC in countries other than USA ?

(OP)
Is the IBC (or portions thereof, say, for wind and seismic?) adopted in any countries outside the US?

My partial answer is "yes", Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, as per SK Ghosh: http://skghoshassociates.com/SKGAblog/viewpost.php...

But are there any other countries?

RE: use of IBC in countries other than USA ?

<sarcasm on> It is used in every nation, that is why it is called the "International" Building Code...just like every nation competes in the World Series Baseball <sarcasm off>

Sorry, I could not resist smile

I have no answer to you question.

>>>...just like every nation competes in the World Series Baseball...<<<

Yeah, I always wince when I hear that. But at least with baseball there are Canadian teams as well as US ones. But when people refer to the Superbowl winner as "world champion", well, it's embarrassing.

RE: use of IBC in countries other than USA ?

From ICC's Fact Sheet http://www.iccsafe.org/newsroom/Documents/factsshe... :

Quote (ICC's Fact Sheet:)

Outside of the U.S., the I-Codes are the basis for the Abu Dhabi International Building Codes; the regional Caribbean Building Standards; the Residential Building Code for Mexico; the Haitian National Code; the Honduras Building Code; Jamaica’s construction codes; and Georgia’s building safety codes.
