SUPPLY TUBES FROM - HRA WALL OUTLET HEADERS TO ROOF TUBE INLET HEADER

SUPPLY TUBES FROM - HRA WALL OUTLET HEADERS TO ROOF TUBE INLET HEADER

The customer is saying to RT per code and give a reference to >750 degree F temperature and >2" NPS which is taken from B31.1.

The pipe material is 6 5/8" O.D X 1" M.W. I am saying that these supply lines are still under ASME Sec. 1 and do not need RT'd per code.

I checked PG 58.3.2 & 58.3.3 but I am unfamiliar as to actual start up of boilers regarding the steam seperation systems. I do not think these supply lines are part of that though.

What you show are within the boundary of ASME Section I. Please review Table PW-11 for NDT requirements.

Metengr,

I know it is difficult to see but on the right hand side - We are going to re-install the piping from the roof tube outlet header to the primary superheater. This would fall into B31.1 correct ?

Please see attached

The piping would fall under boiler external piping (BEP) which is B31.1 technical, but it still is Section I administratively.

Ok. So we would NDE the supply tubes according to ASME 1. pw-11 & NDE the piping per table 136.4 in B31.1

Thank you much

Just for clarification , where do these supply tubes fall into boiler proper on this particular unit's steam flow pertaining to Figures 58.3.2 &/or 58.3.3 of ASME Sec.1 ?

I re-highlited and attached the drawing to show where I was referring to in the original question.

RE: SUPPLY TUBES FROM - HRA WALL OUTLET HEADERS TO ROOF TUBE INLET HEADER

Thanks. What you have now highlighted in red is all link piping under boiler proper of Section I, PG 58.3.3.

- Boiler Proper – The ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME BPVC) has total
administrative jurisdiction and technical responsibility (refer to Section I Preamble).
