NX9 dimensions disappear after attempting to place?

NX9 dimensions disappear after attempting to place?

NX9 dimensions disappear after attempting to place?

(OP)
I am having a problem detailing some parts in a job assembly. This is the first time I have ever had this problem. I already detailed a part from the same assembly within the displayed part like always. and started to work on a second part in its display part, I set up the sheet, placed some views, and when I try to dimension anything on it (holes, horizontal, vertical, rapid dimension) it shows the proper dimension while placing, but after clicking to select the placement it disappears? I cannot select it at all after this happens it is just gone. I checked the layer settings and everything is on. I checked the color settings for the background and the dimensions and that is not a problem. I am stumped, any direction would be appreciated!

RE: NX9 dimensions disappear after attempting to place?

Are any layers turned off in the dwg through Visible-In-View?

RE: NX9 dimensions disappear after attempting to place?

Yes as Ewh says, Most Likely "Visible in View".
Go Layer Visible in View... - Reset to Global. ( Whilst viewing the drawing)

NX ( still) has this fancy option smile that the work layer can be set to invisible.
Then new objects are visible until they are placed. ( completed)

Tomas

RE: NX9 dimensions disappear after attempting to place?

Yes, more than likely a layer "visible in view" issue,
but also check the color of your dimensions and make sure they are different than the color of your drawing background, ie you can't have dimensions that are the color white on a white drawing.
