Section VIII-1 Nameplates character height

Section VIII-1 Nameplates character height

Section VIII-1 Nameplates character height

In UG-118 Methods of Marking it says that stamped of electrochemically etched characters not be less than 5/16" high and then it gives some exceptions in the form of a table. But then in UG-119 it says that the required markings on the nameplate shall be not less than 5/32" high.

Can I get away with etching to only 5/32"? Not electrochemically. I think I'm answering my own question.

Also, are the "Certified by:", "S/N:", "MAWP:" characters supposed to adhere to the text height limitation? Or is it just the info to be included in the field for the previously mentioned terms that is required to a certain height?

RE: Section VIII-1 Nameplates character height

5/32nds on all including data is good.
