Spring Qualification Procedure

Spring Qualification Procedure

(OP)
Hello all,

I am currently creating a spring design qualification procedure for a fail-safe subsea valve. Current valve/actuator assembly to be qualified per 6A and 17D for which I have already created an extensive procedure for. My current issue is that our end user has specifically asked for spring qualification and the only requirements per API are in 17D-7.10.2.2.4, which is a 5,000 average cycle life requirement. Does anyone know of any other additional regulation or standard for fail safe compression spring design for the US?

Thanks in advance,

MGH
