San Antonio has already adopted the 2015 IBC. Is anyone aware of any major structural changes?
Since everything seems to be reference based now, I doubt it- but wanted to see if anyone knew differently

RE: 2015 IBC

The 2015 IBC references the updated SDPWS 2015 from the AWC. The most significant changes to the SDPWS involve shearwall calculations:

Sec. 4.3.3.4.1
Sec. 4.3.4.2
Table 4.3.4 footnotes

There are also some significant changes to diaphragms involving open front structures.

More details are spelled out here:

RE: 2015 IBC

I think the biggest changes are in the references. For example, ACI 318-14 is quite a bit different that ACI 318-11.
Not to mention buying all those new references.

Thanks to both of you

RE: 2015 IBC

It’s thinner, uses larger print, has been made more succinct, costs less and will hereinafter be reissued less frequently.
