2D objects in a 3D world - leaders, line and text
2D objects in a 3D world - leaders, line and text
(OP)
I’m drawing 3D Framing layouts for houses. Leaders since they are 2D can only be drawn successfully when you rotate your drawing to a 2D view, build your leader and text and attach it to a point, which is really in 3D space. The unfortunate event that occurs when you do this is the leader does not attach to the face point of the 3D object but attaches at the back of the 3D object at the same point. I know this is a proper circumstance for a 2D object living in a 3D world but does anyone out there know of a way to do this without having to build the leader on a 2D plane and then rotate the object to a 3D plane and attach it at the proper point? Thanks

You can create required leaders on desired planes without changing the viewpoint. As the leaders always are created on the xy plane, you shoud set the UCS on the desired plane and create the leader in 3D view.
