Separate or divide 1 body into multiple bodies?

Separate or divide 1 body into multiple bodies?

NX 9.0
The cutter shown in the attached image came to me via email and is all one body. I want to use it in a machine without the shoe/foot and cutter. Is there an easy way to separate this single body into multiple bodies so I can delete/hide the bodies I do not want? I've tried "delete face" with no luck.

Thank you,
Trent

Have a look at the "split body" function.

if you use split bodies it is works best if you remove parameters on the bodies after that to separate the two bodies totally

It appears that you are dealing with geometry imported from another system. If this is the case, you might want to try "heal geometry" and/or the "optimize face" commands to help ensure that you are dealing with good geometry (an 'examine geometry' check wouldn't hurt, either). Commands such as "delete face" have a better chance of success if you start with good, clean geometry.
