Rectangular Panel Tank as Drain Tank

Rectangular Panel Tank as Drain Tank

Rectangular Panel Tank as Drain Tank

(OP)
Hi,

Just wondering whether it is possible or practical to use panel tank (rectangular) as a drain tank for ULG 95, ULG 97, and Diesel fluid?

Our engineering team proposed the normal cylindrical vessel however our project proposed and insist of using the panel tank without valid technical reason.

Therefore, is it practical and any reasonable justification of using a panel tank is acceptable / not-acceptable?

RE: Rectangular Panel Tank as Drain Tank

Rectangular tank can be made with more than one compartment and hence more than one type of fluid can be stored. Secondly, they can be made with good engineering practice rather than any specific design code and hence easy/cheap to make.
