Drafting View Update Failure
Drafting View Update Failure
(OP)
When attempting to show hidden lines I consistently get an update failure in some assembly models. I have a master model relationship set up with the dwg file.
This occurs on some but not all similar design assembly models in this project.
I've tried...
I get the sense that everything is related to the first item in 'Possible corrective actions'; Validate and fix the model?
However I am unable to identify anything that needs to be fixed.
I am grateful for any help or direction that may be offered.

o Choose Ignore to restore the view to the state it was in

o Choose Delete to delete the view and all associated objects.
Possible Corrective Actions
---------------------------
o Validate and fix the model
o Set view to manual update
o Set view to reference
o Recreate view
o Remove view
o Suppress view update
o Turn hidden line off
o Validate layer settings
o Unsuppress suppressed solid bodies
o Re-establish section segment associativity in

I've tried...
- Making the drafting layouts at lower levels of the assembly structure.
- Examine geometry
- Healing geometry
- Turning off various parts of the assembly (I have found that I can cause this type of error by how I handle the display of various assembly components when working with the drafting view layouts. Instances where I can cause the error I can also fix the error.)
- Ensuring assembly is using exact and not lightweight display
- Recreating the view
- Setting the view as reference. (this suppresses the error but also suppresses everything else I need to do with the view)
- Not displaying hidden lines defeats the view purpose

RE: Drafting View Update Failure
I cannot say that the scenario you describe does happen among the users i support. I mean, similar errors does occur but has in the most cases logical reasons, it is not something we can make happen by manipulating the ...
Most often it is related to imported models, and often i can pinpoint the error by excluding that imported model from the view update, and then clean/fix/repair etc those part-s.
I think that you should have a word with GTAC, provide them with a number of syslog files containing errors and i am pretty sure that they can help find the error.
