## MDMT - Minimum Design Metal Temperature - API 650

(OP)
Dear All,

Please advise me how to calculate the MDMT (Minimum Design Metal Temperature) of API 650 Storage Tank.

Thanks in Advance

### RE: MDMT - Minimum Design Metal Temperature - API 650

Find the lowest one-day mean temperature and add 15 DegF

### RE: MDMT - Minimum Design Metal Temperature - API 650

IFR is correct. In addition, the temperatures can be found on API 650 Figure 4.2.

### RE: MDMT - Minimum Design Metal Temperature - API 650

MOHAMMED89,

Be advised that the title of Figure 4.2 of API 650 is incorrect with regards to the conversion between °F and °C. The correct formula is °C = (°F-32)*(5/9). I will ensure that an agenda item is taken out to correct this issue.

### RE: MDMT - Minimum Design Metal Temperature - API 650

SCAST was made aware of this issue some time ago but another poke can't hurt.

### RE: MDMT - Minimum Design Metal Temperature - API 650

IFRs,

I was not aware of this issue previously. I do know there was an issue with the section which read "plus 15°F (-9°C)." That issue has been corrected sometime before 12th Edition Addendum 1. That one was particularly annoying for my OCD.
