PE registration in CA

PE registration in CA

PE registration in CA

(OP)
I am planning to register as PE in CA. I am currently registered with NCEES so I think that should make things easy. But I am not sure about "California Civil exams in Seismic Principles and on Engineering Surveying". It appears that I can take this computer based test from my home state (IL). Does anyone know? Plus are there any recommended books to prepare for this test?

Thank you.

RE: PE registration in CA

You can take the CA specific tests from a computerized testing site in your home state.

As for exam prep, that will depend on your background. I didn't utilize any specific resources, some people prefer to take a full class to prepare. I do often hear EET California recommended

RE: PE registration in CA

I have a PE license in California. You can take the computerized state exam at a testing site near your home.

For seismic, hiner's workbook is the most highly recommended. I think that book is enough.
For surveying, i would recommend taking an online course with practice online exams similar to actual exam.
