Lofted flange possibilities

Lofted flange possibilities

Lofted flange possibilities

(OP)
Hello. I am trying to save time in NX. I have to make the simple sheet metal part for bending.

Please see the attached pics.
pic1 - NX
http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=d...

pic2 - another software
http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=3...

I have there two sketches of arcs and I need to connect them with a lofted flange feature with a bend segments. So I would like to get a flat pattern with bend lines but I also need an angles and radii for bending in the drawing.

In NX after using lofted flange, marks of bend segments are in flat pattern. Thats ok. But the solid still have only one face (pic1) and I cannot put to the drawing dimensions for angles and radii. And for example after this step I want to use simple flanges to every edge between the bend segments in front of the part, but NX not allow it to me.

After ,,forming" this sheet in NX there is only one bend in the middle of arc and another edge is only basic sketch - arc.

The result what I am looking for is on pic2 (made in another software).

Is there a possibility to adjust this feature by other way? Somewhere in customer defaults or somewhere else or by other way (project geometry of edges - although I tried it, but maybe by bad way - etc.). I know it could be done with other way (polygon sketch, etc.) I am only looking for time saving and another possibilities with lofted flange feature.

Thank you very much.

Peter

RE: Lofted flange possibilities

Hi Peter,

If you want the bends individually, you will need to create them yourself.
So if you need an arc that is in fact a polygon, you will need to create the polygon. Of course you can incorporate some expressions that drive the top and bottom sketch of your Lofted Flange.
The "other" software already did that part for you. Which makes it look much better out of the box. NX can do the same, but you need to make the template yourself.

Hope this helps you on the way...
