Adding to another thread about starting an engineering firm, how much experience did you have when you finally ventured out?

First time....about 7 years. Started,developed and sold after 6 years.
Second time...about 28 years. Still going 10 years later.

Experience after getting your PE. It seems like everyone is around the same time frame. I appreciate everyone's responses!

To be fair, if you read my other post, I was forced out when the company closed. So going out on my own wasn't necessarily my decision.... just a place I ended up at due to circumstances out of my control.

6 years PE.

Drove my first bulldozer when I was 7 though, so I've been around the block a few times prior.
