Conflicting Part Units

Conflicting Part Units

Conflicting Part Units

(OP)
I would like to create an english drawing with my metric part. This is normally an easy thing to do but unfortunately I clicked the option that says 'Don't displace this message again' when trying to do this, and now I can no longer create a drawing with conflicting units. I was wondering where the preference is for this so I can change it back to allow me to create a drawing with conflicting units to the model it is referencing. I have attached a screen shot my co-worker took for me when creating a part with conflicting units.

And to why I am doing this - our manufacturing floor uses english, our designers use metric and the part has english dimensions on it. I looked all around the utilities and could not locate this preference.

RE: Conflicting Part Units

Which version of NX are you using?

in NX 9.0, you can reset ALL the "Don't display this message again" windows under
File Tab >> All Preferences >> User Interface

I don't know if there is a place in NX where you can reset only specific "messages"
The User Interface window will reset ALL of the windows

The information of which windows have been hidden, is stored in the Windows Registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unigraphics Solutions\NX\9.0\Hide_message

The one you are interested in is controlled by "FileNew_ShowConflictingPartUnitsAlert"
A value of -4,0 will make the message to show up.

RE: Conflicting Part Units

When making a Drawing it really makes no difference what the part units are since in Drafting you can explicitly set whatever units you wish to use when creating your Dimensions.
