Does NX have "Physical Motion"?
Does NX have "Physical Motion"?
(OP)
Hi there!
I'm currently working on a really rough Internal Combustion Engine model in NX 8.5. I've hidden the crank-case enclosure for visibility.

What I'd like to do is have the Camshaft "bump" the valve pins down as it collides, with them springing back up after collision. Is there any way I can do physical motion simulation in NX?

If you get a license error you should check with your CAD admin to see if your site has any available licenses.

If you apply a 3D-contact between cam and the valve, what you describe should happen.
( Provided you are able to set the appropriate values on that contact...)
There are also the NX/Mechatronics which could illustrate the action, i doubt that it can report as much as the NX Motion, but i have never tried it.
