Hi all,

I am working on bolted extended shear tab connection. But when i run my model it runs very slow just 13 steps in 9hrs..
Please help..
What should i do?
Is there any error in modeling

thanks in advance

RE: Bolted Shear tab Modeling in abaqus is running very slow.

Hand calculations? If it's just an extended shear tab it shouldn't be that difficult to do by hand.

RE: Bolted Shear tab Modeling in abaqus is running very slow.

what are you letting the model do? are the holes oversize and the bolts need to rotate/displace in the holes to engage? A lot of contact and special interactions defined? The further away from a linear static analysis you get, the longer the analysis will take. It also depends on the power of your computer.

Just out of curiosity, why would a connection like this need to be analyzed in Abaqus?
