Submerged Arc Welding Machine

Submerged Arc Welding Machine

Submerged Arc Welding Machine

(OP)
Dear All,

Can someone recommend a good manufacturer of Submerged Arc Welding Machines for plate thicknesses ranging from 8mm to 30mm which must be compatible with Tank Jacking method of erection. All of the searches I have done online the units are only compatible with bottom to top approach where the welder hooks onto the top shell, however with the jacking method the roof is already on so no possible way for the welder to hook on.

Many Thanks

RE: Submerged Arc Welding Machine

Good morning Clamont,

Yes, it is correct most of Auto Girth Welder (AGW) for horizontal weld will have a roller hoop up onto top of the shell.

The same thing like Auto Vertical Welder. Need top of shell to hook up the machine.

I have never seen tank construction with jacking method using AGW nor AVW,

You may send an email to Lincoln for some advices.
