Change from 3rd to 1st Angle Projection

Change from 3rd to 1st Angle Projection

Change from 3rd to 1st Angle Projection

(OP)
Ahhh Help!  I created a whole bunch of drawings in 3rd angle, now I need to change them to 1st.  Changing the property of the sheet works, but the drawings are useless (because the projected views each keep their dimensions, and most are now on hidden surfaces).

Is there a way to switch to 1st angle and have a projected view move to the opposite side of the base view?

RE: Change from 3rd to 1st Angle Projection

Are you talking about the 2d drawings derived from
the model? If so, maybe you can mirror first the
right side view (3rd angle) to convert it to left
side view (1st angle). AFAIK, the top/front view
are identical in 1st/3rd angle. Then move all the
views to their respective first angle positions.
Maybe you can also try another "mirror" command.

HTH.

There is a way to turn all the dimension tags off

RE: Change from 3rd to 1st Angle Projection

Hoganh,

If your views are already created and dimensioned, the easiest way to change from 3rd to 1st angle without the problem you're describing is probably to drag the side and top views to the opposite side of the front view from where they are now, without changing the orientation of the view.

Thanks everyone.  Charley, that's what I ended up doing, though I'm not happy about it... it's not clean (if I add a view later I have to remember to reposition it).
