NX8.5 to NX9 migration

NX8.5 to NX9 migration

NX8.5 to NX9 migration

(OP)
Hi y'all,

I've had to move to NX9 and moving templates / .pax files has been straightforward as has Customer Defaults but I can't find where 8.5 saves custom drafting standards ASME(My Company) in this case. I have C:\Users\Felicia\AppData\Local\Siemens\NX90 .dpv file for 9.0 but there's nothing there for 8.5.

Anyone know where 8.5 stores this custom file?

RE: NX8.5 to NX9 migration

If it is a company wide standard, it is probably on a network drive somewhere. After starting NX 8.5, go to Help -> log file and search (Ctrl + f) for nx85_site.dpv and nx85_group.dpv; it should show up near the top of the log file. You will be able to get the path to the file here.

Are you using teamcenter?

Thank you cowski, I found the file location from the log file as you suggested. They were just a couple of folders below the NX9 files in the UnigraphicsSolutions folder and I don't know why I didn't think to check that folder when I was in that directory.

Thank you!

Hi SDETERS,

It is a local install so no TC. I have to migrate to a network install soon though since I finally have some hired help coming in and I'd like my customizations / settings to load on their system on start-up.

I'll start a new thread for the questions that will come up with that endeavor ;)
