Stelliting (Stellite 6 hardfacing) on Super Duplex Stainless Steel or Austentitic SS (316 L) and associated Post Weld Heat treatment- what should be the major concerns- from sensitization or carbon diffusion point of view?

RE: Stellite 6 Hardfacing of Duplex Stainless Steel / Austenitic Stainless Steel(316L)

There should be no PWHT for the austenitic stainless steel, duplex and superduplex stainless steels. Major concerns would be sensitization for the austenitic grades of stainless steel, and precipitation of intermetallic compounds for the duplex and superduplex stainless steels upon exposure to PWHT temperatures, which would result in poor toughness and reduced corrosion resistance.
