MX Drainage for gully design

MX Drainage for gully design

(OP)
I have recently been involved in a development scheme in the middle East and attempted to use MX Drainage to determine appropriate gully spacing rather than using the traditional method of a spreadsheet with calculations from DMRB Gully Spacing.

However, I had some quite significant problems. Sometimes the results matched the expected spacing whereas on occasions the spacing was half of what was expected and more worryingly, there were situations where single valleys in the model were not recognized as such by MX Drainage and the single valley appeared to have breaks, at the end of which gullies were inserted.

Has anyone had experience with this problem and have any suggestions of possible solutions to these issues?
