(OP)
Hi All,

Simply put, am trying to analyse a simple static loading of a composite rod with a non uniform cross section(roughly circular) consisting of a braided outer ply with a unidirectional inner running the length of the rod.

I am having issues defining the thickness of the layers so that the entirety of the inner section is filled with fibres without large voids or extruding the surface past the opposite surface. (Screenshot attached)

This may well be a simple fix but I am relatively new to ANSYS and am teaching myself as I go. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated!
