FMC pneumatic valve actuator help

FMC pneumatic valve actuator help

(OP)
Hi all, im new on here and looking for a bit of help/advice. Im trying to open up an actuator to check for damage but im not sure how to go about this. The actuator is fail closed and the bottom cover of the spring assembly has 4 bolts in it fitted with large thick washers. Ive removed these but the plate doesnt move. It looks as though there may be a ring/groove set up holding it in place. Can anyone offer any advice.
cheers Dave

RE: FMC pneumatic valve actuator help

My advice is to be sure you understand how to disassemble anything when it could have a compressed spring. Stop work, and get a maintenance manual from the manufacturer.

RE: FMC pneumatic valve actuator help

Yes go to the OEM. The spring is loaded in compression and a press is typical used to install.
