Translate, Rotate, Copy a Component all at once in NX8.5

I have a need to take a component and translate, rotate and copy it. Think of a skewed lamination of 100 plates. Is this possible or would this require a journal?

RE: Translate, Rotate, Copy a Component all at once in NX8.5

You can use the "move component" command (with the "mode" option set to "copy") and use the dynamic or csys to csys move option.

Alternatively, you could use the "pattern component" command.

If you need it done right this second, remove all parameters and use "TRANSLATE".

It's gonna take more time to load a copy and move.

Another great reason not to deprecate the "TRANSFORM" function..

To the Toolmaker, your nice little cartoon drawing of your glass looks cool, but your solid model sucks. Do you want me to fix it, or are you going to take all week to get it back to me so I can get some work done?

Yes I have tried this. But I need to translate and rotate the part .05 along the x axis and rotate the part at the same time. Think of copying a part along a helix. I do not see Pattern component in NX8.5 If it was only 20 components that may be fine. But I have to take 100 or so components and move and rotate from each last copy.

I got it. I was not thinking. cowski had the asnwer I needed.

What I was doing wrong, I was putting the second coordinate system to copy to, for seond component location. So to fix it I put the coordinate where I wanted the last component loaction and rotation to be. I rotated the second coordinate system to the proper skew angle. Then I did a move from Cys to Cys with copy turned on with the number of correct intermidiate components and NX dropped these part in how I wanted. Thanks for all of your help.
