BOM View Dataset (Assembly Structure)

BOM View Dataset (Assembly Structure)

BOM View Dataset (Assembly Structure)

(OP)
Teamcenter 8 and NX 7.5

At my current employer, we use the BOM View Dataset to fill out the drawing BOM contained in the UG Part Dataset (Drawing). We create the UG assembly in the UG Master Dataset by adding the required UG component part files. After saving the UG assembly, we open up the BOM View Dataset in Teamcenter and the same components show up in structure manager in "BOM Lines". For each BOM Line we might add material notes, and we always assign a "find number" which show up in the drawing BOM as the drawing "Item Number" after saving the BOM View Dataset. The UG Master Dataset is pretty important because its used by other groups in the company after we're finshed with the CAD and Teamcenter work.

Question....Is there any way to have add components into the UG assembly file without those components showing up in the BOM View Dataset Structure Manager and/or the drawing BOM?....Thanks, Rod Morgan

"The UG Master Dataset is pretty important...".....OOPS, meant to say BOM View Dataset is important

RE: BOM View Dataset (Assembly Structure)

You can keep them out of the NX parts list by assigning an attribute to those components in an assembly in NX.
Select component(s) in ANT that you want to not show, right click, properties>attribues> then enter one or both of these in the TITLE field:

PLIST_IGNORE_MEMBER
PLIST_IGNORE_SUBASSEMBLY

then put anything in the value field, like "hidden."

If you add a column in the ANT for PLIST_IGNORE_(whichever), you can see which components have those attributes assigned.
