UPS battery autonomy time

UPS battery autonomy time

UPS battery autonomy time

(OP)
If bidder applies one UPS (Dual redundant type) system for DCS, ESD, FGS and Telecom in CCB, Satellite rack room and Substation as company recommended, what is the UPS battery autonomy time among 1 hour and 4 hours?
how to calculate it?

RE: UPS battery autonomy time

The UPS autonomy period shall be longest of the load lot.

If you are concerned about the budget, probably you may use the timers to trip the respective loads when the desired rated autonmy of that load expires.

RE: UPS battery autonomy time

My answer would depend on what DCS, ESD, FGS, and CCB mean... That said, krisys gave you a good start.

Best to you,

Goober Dave

DRWeig:

Distributed control system; emergency shutdown; fire & gas system; central control building.

RE: UPS battery autonomy time

Ah, thanks! You need to make a table of the loads and required autonomy period of each. Easiest is if you'd like to keep them all up for four hours. Then you just need to meet the entire load for four hours. If some can be let go earlier, you can downsize the battery system.

Best to you,
