NX 8, Convert from 3D Model to DXF

NX 8, Convert from 3D Model to DXF

NX 8, Convert from 3D Model to DXF

(OP)
Background: Have consulted NX 8 books, and a lot of the threads on this forum but I haven't been able to complete this successfully. I'm running NX8 without the Sheet Metal license.

I have my part file and my drawing file in the same folder. I have tried the Export>DXF/DWG when in Modeling Mode (viewing the 3D model) and I get the following error:

Intializing UG/Open ....
UG/Open initialization failed

and when trying to use the Export>2D Exchange when in Modeling Mode (viewing the 3D model) I get the identical failure message.

My model is just a simple square extruded about 0.5 inches, just to see if I can get this DXF file going. I'm wondering if the setting I have are incorrect or maybe I've done something wrong setting up the model prior to conversion. I've searched around these forums for an answer on this but I haven't had any luck. Any help is appreciated.

RE: NX 8, Convert from 3D Model to DXF

I Think you should call GTAC on this one, It's the translator which fails to start, it's not related to your model.
It might still be a licensing issue, the translators does sometimes give strange error messages.

Tomas

Contacted GTAC, this is an issue with our license. We don't have the DXF translator.
