thread238-345667: Arcing at tank flange joint of Transformers
Dear all,
I just read above thread and we had a similar issue, arcing of tank flange during energisation. And we need to convince the customer that this can happen and should not be considered as a big problem.
Do you know any technical paper or any standard which gives information for '' arcing during energisation of transformers''?

RE: Any standard defining arcing during energisation of transformers?

There is no mention of this problem in any standard. Some time back, I had presented a paper "Problems connected with the commissioning of Power Transformers" at Doble Conference,India. In this paper, this problem was discussed in some detail. May be helpful to you in convincing the customer. If you give your email id,I can postyou the same.
